camping trip

Darren and I finally got out of town this summer and went camping. We spent most of the summer preparing for our US wedding reception at my parent's house which was a success. We spent the first night at the Smith River and then headed to the coast on Sunday since it ended up raining on us Saturday night. What a night it was too! Lighting and thunder and half the night spent in the car with our two dogs. Let's just say it was cozy! On Sunday we ran on the sand dunes on the way to Florence and it started to storm while we were out there. What a thrill.

We swam in the river and explored our beautiful surroundings. The dogs were pooped to say the least. You can tell the dog that has more energy than the other. Our Dane was too lazy to even stand and eat ;)

I was so excited when a package marked Mexico came in the mail, the professional wedding photos are here and I'm in love! Here are a few highlights!

i'm back

Hola

Well it's official I'm now a married woman and I couldn't be happier. I just returned from nearly a month in Mexico, first for our wedding then the honeymoon. We backpacked all over the Yucatan Pennicula stopping here and there with no reservations, just by where the wind took us. We traveled mostly by bus, but took some cabs and what they called Collectivos which were basically, basic minivans. We ended up full circle, starting at the beach then to the middle of the Mexican jungle and back again.

First things first though the wedding! I have to say that all the prep really paid off. It went off without a hitch. Planning a wedding from so far away was somewhat tough but with the help of family and a local wedding planner it turned out just beautifully. From the flowers to the food to the music and the cake I could not have asked for anything more! Everyone arrived from both the United States and Ireland with no problems (all their luggage, a different story on the way home). We made sure to carry anything on the plane that we could absolutely not live without, like the dress and the suit!

The ceremony was so wonderful and my new husband was so handsome in his suit. There wasn't a dry eye in the place, It really was perfect. We left after a few photos to the reception site where we were greeted by Mariachis and Margaritas, as well and the perfect sunset over the bluest of blue ocean. The speeches made were so special, we do really feel so blessed for such wonderful family and friends and are honored that so many made the effort to be with us on our special day!

After a fairytale wedding, we enjoyed our beautiful surroundings with everyone for the rest of the week in Cozumel. We went deep sea fishing and landed a Dorado. My arms were sore for days, but it was worth it! The chair I was sitting in wasn't bolted to the floor of the boat and I was almost taken for a joy ride. Thanks goodness my Godfather grabbed the chair, because there was NO WAY I was lettin' that sucker go! ;)

Ruins in Palenque. I have never sweat so much in my life because it was so humid and hot, but it was totally amazing. P.S. We were awakin' in the middle of the night by howler monkeys and the bugs are the size of my great dane ;)

Thanks for letting me share this amazing and special part of my life with you. I have to admit that I only got online one day and that was to see the launch of the Honey Bees set. Otherwise I was really out of touch. I was so happy about the response to the new set though and I look forward to using it myself. Nichole Heady was the one who talked me into a bee set and I'm glad she did! I would love to see what you create with it ;)

last week at the computer

This the last week at work before the big day. I will be gone almost a month for my honeymoon.

well the shower is over

Well my company has left back to NY and Seattle. I miss them already. I could not have asked for a better bridal shower and week with friends and family. We had a pink,black and white theme for the shower with pink cupcakes yummy and a beautiful white cake with pink flowers on top. There where truffles and sangrias, perfect! My sister from California was in charge of the games and I even got to try on my dress before the big day. There was a no boys allowed rule, even though my dad was the parking valet at the start, very cute. My mom and sister did such a beautiful job and pulled off an awesome shower!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

So beautiful!

Now I'm taking today to get caught up with work and home stuff. I have another stamp set, one of my personal favorites, to submit to Nichole before I leave for Mexico and get married to the man of my dreams. ;) I can't wait for you guys to see the sets that are coming out! I can't believe that it's already less than two weeks until the April 15th party!! Almost the countdown.

This week has been sooo crazy. I'm getting ready for a logo presentation at the moment and thought I would write to say hello.

back home

Well, I'm back home from visiting family in California. Here are photos of my niece and nephew. SOOOO CUTE!

the couple's classic

Darren and I decided to enter a couple's race over the weekend called The Couple's Classic. We placed 7th overall in our age group as a team and both got best times! It was tons of fun and nice to do something shorter than a half marathon for a change.

My friend Emily that lives in New York sent this to me and I'm asking all the people I know to help if they can. I already have one of my friends in Bali who is teaching there, have his classes make airplanes to send!:

"This little boy lives not too far from where I am living now. If you read below he has cancer and his one wish is to get paper airplanes mailed to him from all over. If you get a chance, please take a moment and see if you can't help. Maybe some of you have kids and their class at school would be interested in helping or something. Pretty small wish from a boy fighting for his life."
